Cooperative Homesteads overview
The Cooperative Homesteads project is based upon the Cooperative Homesteads project of 1942 for auto workers outside of Detroit Michigan by Mr. Frank Lloyd Wright. This project features the use of rammed earth walls which are further insulated by earth berms excavated from surrounding sunken gardens. I added two additional bedrooms for a total of four. Opposite the living spaces on the other side of the carport and at a lower elevation is the workshop and food storage areas. This model is a preliminary work in progress so changes will be made as time allows.
